Sonny Daniels founded Veritas Protection Group to bring a rare combination of experience to private clients — the operational discipline of a career in law enforcement, paired with the strategic oversight of running public safety and homeland security at the state's highest level. Over his career, he has led complex security operations and protected senior government officials, executives, high-net-worth individuals, and entertainment professionals.

A Career Built in the Field

Sonny's foundation is a distinguished law enforcement career, where he advanced from Deputy to K-9 Handler to Field Operations Lieutenant. He led major criminal investigations, managed operational personnel, and worked alongside federal, state, and local agencies on high-profile investigations and public safety initiatives.

Leadership at the State's Highest Level

Sonny was appointed Deputy Director and Chief of Staff for Public Safety & Homeland Security for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and served as the Governor's Deputy Homeland Security Advisor — providing strategic oversight of statewide public safety and coordinating operations across the Virginia State Police, Department of Emergency Management, Department of Corrections, and other public safety agencies. He partnered directly with the U.S. Secret Service, FBI, DEA, U.S. Marshals Service, and the Department of Homeland Security, and directed executive threat assessments for the Executive Office, the Governor's Mansion, and Virginia's First Family.

Private-Sector Command

In the private sector, Sonny has directed executive protection for CEOs, corporate boards, members of Congress, senior government officials, political campaigns, international travel, and major entertainment events — spanning protective intelligence, advance planning, residential security, global security assessments, crisis management, and enterprise security program development.
